Local fund employees of GDC Budhal go on indefinite strike

Excelsior Correspondent
RAJOURI, Sept 10: All local fund employees of Govt Degree College Budhal today went on   pen down strike till their pending wages for the last 40 months are paid.
These local fund employees have been working in the college since 2008 and they have not been paid wages for near about 40 months. There is no permanent staff posted at the college and entire work is being performed by these employees.
Despite the repeated requests to the higher authorities, the Department of Higher Education has done nothing to release their pending wages. On the other hand, employees claimed that there were adequate funds available in the college to meet out the expenditure on their wages.
The aggrieved employees have appealed the Higher Education Department to look into the matter and issue necessary directions to release the wages under local fund.
