General store owner held with poppy straw

RAMBAN, Sept 11: Police arrested a general store owner alongwith two kilograms of poppy straw (bhukki).
As per police sources, during patrolling at Digdole market, police party from Ramban police station asked a man to stop for checking on suspicious grounds.
On seeing police team, the man tried to escape, but cops chased and nabbed him.
During checking, police recovered 2 kilograms of poppy straw and arrested the person.
The accused has been identified as Swami Raj, son of Jagat Ram. He runs a general store at Digdole.
A case under FIR Number 95/15 under Section 8/15 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered at police station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban police station Inspector Ajay Chib made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Ramban Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
