Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum highlights demands

UDHAMPUR, Sept 13: In its monthly meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, the district unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum highlighted various demands.
In the largely attended meeting, the speakers expressed concern over the large number of vacancies of teaching and non-teaching cadres, especially in schools falling in remote and far flung areas and demanded filling up of the same by DPC under fast track recruitment to regulate the teaching learning process in a proper manner.
They also demanded enhancement in the grade pay of Principals and declaration of their post as non vacational, removal of pay anomaly of lecturers in Physical Education, Running Pattern in favour of Plus 2 cadre, formulation and implementation of rational Transfer Policy and regularization of all Joint Directors, Chief Education Officers, Principals and lecturers serving in the Incharge capacity in the School Education Department.
Speaking on the occassion, Ashok Sharma shared the concern of the members and urged the Government to take urgent steps to post teaching and non teaching staff in the schools functioning sans adequate staff. He also demanded that all the Incharge incumbents in the School Education Department be regularized at the earliest. He also demanded a rational and transparent transfer policy in the School Education Department which should be approved and ratified by the State Cabinet and it should be implemented strictly.
He also demanded enhancement in the remuneration in the rates of supervisory and evaluation duties of JKBOSE, holding of various examinations in time, timely clearance of bills, appointment of superintendents and Deputy Superintendents under norms and on the rotational basis, and publication of annual calendar of various activities by the Board in the beginning of the academic session.
Sharma also urged the Government to issue commendation letters to the students figuring in merit positions in the Board exams and to those lecturers, who show 100% result in their subjects.
