Lead futures shed 0.62%, hurt by muted demand

NEW DELHI, Sept 14:  Lead prices slipped 0.62 per cent to Rs 112.50 per kg in futures trade today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market amid a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery this month fell 70 paise, or 0.62 per cent, to Rs 112.50 per kg in a business turnover of 446 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in October was also trading 55 paise, or 0.48 per cent, lower at Rs 113.60 per kg in a business turnover of 16 lots.
According to analysts, low demand from battery-makers in the spot market, a weak trend in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange and weak data deepening concerns of the China slowdown kept pressure on lead futures here. (PTI)
