Copper futures fall 0.45% on weak global cues

NEW DELHI, Sept 14:  Tracking a weak global trend, copper futures traded 0.45 per cent lower at Rs 368.20 per kg today as speculators offloaded positions.
Furthermore, subdued demand at domestic spot market pushed down metal prices.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in far-month February 2016 contracts was trading Rs 1.65, or 0.45 per cent, down at Rs 368.20 per kg in a business turnover of 32 lots.
Also, metal for delivery in November contract shed Rs 1.60, or 0.44 per cent, to Rs 362.55 per kg in 1,019 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in copper futures to weak global cues after reports on Chinese industrial production and fixed asset investment increased concerns over an economic slowdown in the world’s largest consumer.
Meanwhile, copper dropped 0.4 per cent to USD 5,347.50 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange while in Shanghai, metal for November delivery fell 0.8 per cent. (PTI)
