Sir,
Constantly, time and again Pakistan Rangers violate ceasefire agreement of 2003. They have crossed all limits during past one and half years leading to killing of several civilians and damaging property. They are directly targetting the civilian population, violating all international norms and conventions. They are also causing extensive damage to their livestock and also to their source of livelihood. Infiltration attempts by the militants under the cover of shelling and firing take place and thereby penetrate into civilians areas to cause panic and fear.
The fresh spell of Pakistan shelling has created a wave of panic among the civilians who had just recovered from heavy shelling in Balakote Sector of Poonch district where six civilians were killed and over 20 others were injured on August 15 and 16. The civilians now remain confined to their houses. The people living close to the border cannot attend to their day to day business, their children are unable to attend schools and colleges. Fencing of borders should be our primary concern and additional militancy pickets along LoC need to be established. The rehabilitation of border people be taken in hand on priority basis
Yours etc…
