Targetting civilian areas is no professionalism by Pak Army: Lt Gen Nimbhorkar

JAMMU :  In the backdrop of continuous ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the Line of Control, General-Officer-Commanding, White Knight Corps (16 Corps) Lt Gen RR Nimbhorkar today said targeting civilian areas is not an act of professional army.
“We are of the opinion that targetting civilian areas does not shows professionalism by the Pakistani Army,” Lt Gen Nimbhorkar told media persons  at the sidelines of a function organised to commemorate victory of 1965 war.          The GOC said, “such acts are really unethical.”
He  said that there doesn’t seems to be any specific reason behind cross border firing, adding, “very illogical that despite of various talks recently, they are firing.”
The GOC further said that Indian Army is forced to retaliate and respond effectively to the Pakistan firing.          Supporting infiltration could be the modus operandi and cannot be ruled out as the reason of firing, he asserted.          On missing of two SPOs alongwith official weapons days back from Doda region, the General said, “why and where they have gone is a matter under investigation,” adding, “both of them were reportedly poor people and may be in lieu of money, they had escaped but it is also being ascertained.” (AGENCIES)
