JAMMU, Aug 23: National Students Union of India (NSUI) today demanded implementation of Right To Education (RTE) Act in the State.
Addressing a press conference, Uday Chib, State president, NSUI, said that for the implementation of RTE Act in the State, NSUI will start awareness campaign and promotion drive shortly.
Chib said that RTE Act requires all the private schools to reserve 25 per cent of seats for children belonging to poor families.
They will organize programmes on RTE Act all across the State, so as to make people awareness about the Act, he added.
NSUI will raise the issue in each and every districts of the State after coordinating with respective district presidents, he said.
Among others present were Ajay Kumar and Sidharth Pathania, State general secretaries, Ramansh Billawaria, Prabjoot Singh, Amjad Mushtaq Bhatt, president, MAM College, Vijay Singh, etc.
