Udhampur, Ganderbal, Anantnag register emphatic victories

KATHUA, Sept 23: Districts of Udhampur, Ganderbal and Anantnag registered emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing State Level Inter-District Under-14 Boys Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament is being held under the patronage of Jahangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports and under the supervision of Sunil Kumar, DYSSO Kathua.
The matches are being played at District Police Lines and Sports Stadium Kathua.
Earlier, District Udhampur defeated District Samba by 5 wickets in an easy contest. Samba gave a target of 58 runs, while in reply Udhampur attained it by losing 6 wickets to win the match by 4 wickets.
In another match, Ganderbal trounced Jammu by 7 wickets in a thrilling contest.
Earlier Jammu district scored a decent total of 71 runs in the stipulated 10 overs. Musaif Ajaz and Tabin were the main contributors for Jammu. In reply, Ganderbal achieved the target on the penultimate ball of the innings by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Praful Dhar was the pick of the bowlers for Jammu district, who took 2 wickets in his 2 overs by conceding just 7 runs, while Tabin took another wicket to fall.
In yet another match, Anantnag scored paltry total of 52 runs, while in reply Kathua collapsed at 45 runs, thus lost the match by 6 runs.
Today’s matches were officiated by Rajesh Kumar, Mohan Lal Dub, Ram Lubaya, Omkar Singh, Avnesh Kumar, Sandeepan Sharma. Kailash Chander, Tilak Raj, Kuldeep Singh, Joginder Khajuria, Virender Singh, Darshan Kumar, Sanjeev and Sunny.
