JAMMU, Oct 2: A couple today allegedly consumed some poisonous substance in a hotel room here in Jewel area and the man died while being shifted to hospital.
According to a police spokesperson, a couple was found unconscious this morning in a hotel room in Jewel area after the duo consumed some poisonous substance. He said that the hotel staff informed the police and the unconscious couple was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
The man identified as Kushal Singh (22) son of Shanker Singh, a resident of Ramnagar, district Udhampur died on way to the hospital while the girl identified as Neha (21) daughter of Chanu Ram, is struggling for life.
The body of the deceased was handed over to his legal heirs for last rites after conducting postmortem. A case has been registered in this connection at police station Nawabad and investigation started.
