The pair of the brothers Anil Gurkha and Sunil Gurkha displayed extraordinary motor-ability, sharp reflexes and anticipation to outplay the duo of R Sodhi and Ashok Kumar in the quarterfinals by (21-13, 21-15) to storm into the semifinals of the veteran doubles event in the ongoing 27th Jammu District Badminton Championship at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here.
In other veterans doubles quarterfinal match, N Khajuria and Pradeep toppled the duo of Sethi and Ramesh Raina by (21-05, 21-06) to move into the semis.
Meanwhile, in veterans singles quarterfinals, Anil Gurkha drubbed Sanjeev Goyal, Raju Chawla prevailed upon Tarseem and Ramesh Sharma beat Sanjeev Ishar, while in womens singles, Akanksha drubbed Kirat and Deepakshi trounced Prabjot to advance in the Championship.
