Anantnag Prabandhak Committee holds meet

JAMMU, Oct 3: A general body meeting of Anantang Prabandhak Committee was held under the chairmanship of its president M K Bambroo at Anantnag where the annual  Maha Yagya was performed on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi as usual.
Addressing the meeting Mr Bambroo said the history was created after the shutters of Devibal Asthapan in Anantnag town were opened for the first time after the mass exodus of Pandits from Valley on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi.
Addressing the meeting, B K Wantoo general secretary of the Committee said that the present term of the Committee has come to end in the month of September and he had urged the Election authority to notify the dates for fresh elections. However the election authority showed its inability of conducting the elections and urged the Committee to appoint the new Commissioner for the same. So the Committee has decided to defer the elections for the time being and it was decided that the present Committee should function till the ongoing developmental works are completed.
Ramesh Kumar Bhat, vice president, Sanjay Handoo, Bitu Jad, Bal Jee Bhat (Katal) Capt.(retd) Maharaj Krishan and Roshan Lal attended the meeting.
