Resolve DPs issue: JKSAC

JAMMU, Oct 3: The Jammu and Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has urged upon the Government to settle the pending issue of displaced persons (DPs) from Pak Occupied Kashmir.
In a meeting of the SAC held here today under the chairmanship of Gurdev Singh, president of the body, the members expressed their dismay over the callous attitude of the Govt as the issue is being tossed from one table to the other to delay it further. They reiterated that revised package of Rs 30 lakh may be calculated on account of compensation for each DP family of 1947 from POK for their left out properties along with reservation for their wards in the State and Central Govt jobs/ technical institutions.
The JKSAC members urged upon the Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh and MOS in Union Govt  Dr Jitender Singh to sort out the pending issue without any delay. Prof Harbans Singh, Dayal Singh Wazir, Parvesh Kumar, Hardev Singh and Rakesh Gupta also spoke on the occasion.
