JAMMU, Oct 7: Director, Urban Local Bodies, Jammu, Soujanya Sharma conducted an intensive tour of Municipal Committees of R.S. Pura, Arnia and Bishnah here today.
During the visit, the Director Local Bodies emphasized to complete the ongoing projects within stipulated time frame and issued directions to all Executing Agencies/Officers to complete the same with proper specifications. Besides this the sanitation scenario prevailing in these Municipal Committees of Jammu Division was also reviewed and instructions were given to concerned Executive Officers to start the fogging of areas to combat the dengue disease. Instructions were given to Executive Officers to provide sufficient amount of street lights as and where required.
At Municipal Committee R.S. Pura, the shops were proposed at bus stand and also to protect the site from illegal encroachments. The discussion was held with Commanding Officer, GREF to retrieve the 21 kanals of prime site where a commercial complex housing different types of amenities is proposed. At old Municipal site shopping complex was proposed and in main bazaar the temporary shelters were proposed to be built in order. All these projects will be under Self Finance Mode.
At Municipal Committee Arnia, development of bus stand alongwith a commercial building housing banks and other allied offices was proposed and at Municipal Committee Bishnah the existing Municipal Office site was proposed to be developed in the shape of shopping complex housing minimum 30 shops alongwith a public toilet complex which is the prime requirement of entire area.
The Director was accompanied by the Executive Engineer, Local Bodies, Division-I and Executive Engineer, Town Drainage Division, Jammu alongwith allied staff.
