JAMMU, Oct 9: Jammu District Open Table Tennis Championship, being organized by by Jammu District Table Tennis Association, under the auspices of J&K Table Association was declared open by VK Magoo, working president of the Association at Indoor Complex, MA Stadium, here today.
The Championship is scheduled to be played from today to October 12, 2015.
Around 250 players from Jammu district are participating in this Championship.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajan Sharma, general secretary Jammu District Table Tennis Association, Ajay Sharma, general secretary J&K Table Tennis Association, Sheetal Gandotra, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta, Vishal Abrol, Jaideep Manocha and Sohail Khalid.
Earlier, in cadet boys category matches, Rohan Langer got better of Ceyl Jain (2-0) by 11-3,11-4, while in another match of this category, Akhil prevailed over Aarvit Padgotra (2-0) by 11-2,11-3.
The matches are being officiated by S Narinder Singh, Narinder Kaur, Satish Gupta, Meenu Madam and Sandeep.
