JAMMU, Oct 9: CBSE North Zone Judo Cluster held at GD Goenka Public School, Jammu governed by Om Prakash Bansal Charitable Trust concluded, here today.
456 players drawn from 51 Schools participated in this historic event and the participating teams were from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and host Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the organizers, the players displayed exemplary sportsmanship both on and off the field and made the event a grand success.
Goenkans, whether students or staff could not contain their excitement and pride when the names of Amrita Roshan and Vanshika Manhas-the two International players who won bronze medals at Kurash Championship at Taipai, China were called for their bouts.
Dilbag Singh, ADGP was the chief guest on the occasion, while prominent among othrs present on the occasion were Chairman, Rahul Bansal, Director, Sanya Bansal and the Principal, Dr R P Singh, who all were highly impressed with the performance of the Judokas.
Mr Dilbag lauded the efforts of the organizers for holding this sporting extravaganza in the School.
The Principal of the School said that it was really praise worthy to witness an event of such magnitude in Jammu. He lauded the efforts of all Judokas and thanked the referees and coaches for their encouragement towards enabling the students to become self sufficient, self reliant and self dependent.
The Principal lavished praise on Sandeep Jaiswal (HoD Sports) and his team, Music Department, Art and Craft Department, Transport, Administrative Department, Teaching Faculty and Bhanu Pratap for their coach dedication.
The CBSE Observer for the meet was Om Dutt Sharma, while the Tournament Director was Vikas Dogra and the Assistant Tournament Director was Jugal Kishore.
