MENDHAR, Oct 9: A programme on Kala Utsav was organized by DIET Poonch presided by Principal DIET Poonch in which forty four participants of thirteen schools of district participated.
The welcome address was given S Jagjit Singh, Vice Principal of the institution. Students of different schools performed their best in almost all cultural items presented by them especially in folk songs in Gojri and Pahari.
Three judges namely prominent musician master Kartar Chand, Principal HSS Mandi S Manjeet Singh Bali and Mohd Shafiq S O were appointed by the DIET principal to judge the various items presented by the participanting students.
The participants who secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were Shabnam Naz, Aaina Kabir and Abida Parveen respectively, Principal DIET Poonch distributed prize among the winners and in his address he encouraged them and gave important tips regarding more improvement in their skills.
Others who spoke on the occasion were Azrar Hussain Shah, HoD and Shakoor Khan Lecturer, DIET faculty members who were present on the occasion were S Narinder Singh, Mohd bashir Khan, Monmohan Singh, Depak Kapoor, Shaida Gulzari, Hamida Begum, Kasturi Lal, S Balwant Singh all HoD’s among lecturers who were present were Barkat Hussain, Muzzafar Hussain, Mandhir Singh and Nikhat Choudhary. Dr Amjed Ali Babar conducting the programme.
