Rajesh releases Rs 20 lakh for beautification of Dogra Chowk

JAMMU, Oct 12: A function was organized today at Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Chowk here today for upgradation and beautification of the statue of Pandit Prem Nath Dogra and also to upgrade the park around it.  The function was inaugurated by BJP general secretary (Org)  Ashok Koul who was the chief guest on the occasion and MLA Jammu East Rajesh Gupta.
Rajesh Gupta on the  occasion announced Rs 20 lakh from his C.D.F as the first installment towards the up gradation and beautification of the project. The overall cost of the project is estimated about Rs 30 lakhs. The Pandit Prem Nath Dogra circle at Jewel Chowk is situated at one of the most prominent place in the City of Temples and has been venue for the launch of the many political movements.  The place is also used for organising social and cultural events.
The place has special significance in the political journey of the  State and as a result the beautification of the circle is most appropriate. The work has been undertaken on the initiative of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh. He has also given instruction to complete the project with in the right time and space and also ensure quality workmanship.
Rajesh Gupta while speaking on the occasion said that Pandit Prem Nath Dogra was a veteran leader of the State.
It was under his leadership that the Praja Parishad movement was launched in Jammu. He was the first nationalist to have raised the cause of the nationalist forces in the Sate.
Gupta was accompanied by Joint Commissioner Khushal Chand, X-En Arvind Gupta and Surjeet, Health Officer Dr. Zafar Iqbal and senior BJP leaders Murari Lal, Karan Singh, Dalip Gupta, Gulshan Mahajan, Shiv Kumar, Sunil Sharma, Raju, Anju Dogra and Ashwani Sharma.
Prominent who were present on the occasion included Kuldeep, Rajesh , Bittu , Ashok, Ram,  Ram Lal,  Hari Om, Rajinder Gupta and Prof. Sham.
