JAMMU, Oct 12: Little Millennium Pre Schools at Roop Nagar and Gandhi Nagar celebrated “Joy of Giving” Week.
During the week special assembly sessions were held for sensitizing the little ones to the importance of contributions in the society especially towards the weaker and under privileged sections.
On the concluding day, in which the parents of the little angels contributed generously, the school representatives visited the Bal Ashram at Ved Mandir Amphalla and distributed usable commodities like notebooks, pencils, biscuits, shampoo, soap, toys and clothes to the underprivileged children.
A cheque of Rs 2,100 was also presented by the school management to the Bal Ashram.
Akhila Magotra, Chief Learning Officer, Little Millennium Jammu while elaborating on the subject explained that today’s world is fast becoming a ‘Materialistic World’ where there is a blind race to acquire more and more. ‘It is not Need’ but ‘Greed’ that is leading us in a race called ‘life’ which is fast becoming devoid of all sublime values. We see that the gap between haves and have-nots is widening each day. It is also a matter of grave concern that the basic humanitarian values are being threatened. She further added that it is our utmost responsibility to instill the essential values of sharing and caring in our children who at this tender age demonstrate a remarkable respectability towards moral values, Magotra added.
