KP leaders highlight historical role of ASKPC

JAMMU, Oct 14: Kashmiri Pandit leaders and intellectuals today stressed on strengthening All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) the premier organization of Pandits and urged all organizations to work in close coordination with it for the betterment of the community.
The suggestion was given by All India Kashmiri Pandit Conference (AIKPC) president and senior KP leader, H N Jattu, Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram, R K Raina senior community leader and outgoing president ASKPC and Prof A N Sadhu a well known scholar and community leader during a function organized by the ASKPC at Suriya Bhawan here today in connection with swearing in ceremony of newly elected president of the organization advocate Ravinder Raina.
Kashmiri Pandit representatives drawn from different areas of the Jammu including intellectuals and advocates attended the function and pledged to strengthen the ASKPC which has played a historical role in KPs struggle.
Addressing the gathering the newly elected president Ravinder Raina appealed the community to be united and redouble their efforts for taking   the ongoing struggle to its logical conclusion.
Raina said ASKPC has a historical role and he will seek cooperation of all organizations and members of community to strengthen this organization further.
He highlighted the contribution of its previous presidents including the yeoman’s role played by Pt Amarnath Vaishnavi and HL Chatta during the exile period. He also highly appreciated the outgoing president R K Raina for conducting the elections in a free and democratic manner.
The function started with recitation of Vedic Mantras by Swami Kumar Ji of Geeta Satsangh Ashram Muthi.
S K Bhat threw light on the historical role of ASKPC which is about 100 year old organization. Swami Kumar Ji who was the chief guest stressed on unity among the community. He urged all other KP Organizations to work in close coordination with ASKPC. Later Swami Ji administered the oath of office to Mr Raina.
Prof A N Sadhu was the guest of honour who recalled the role of ASKPC in the post independence period in general and exile of the community in particular. He criticized the State Government for delaying the implementation of PM’s employment package.
Prof R L Shant was the another guest of honour who said ASKPC has to perform a greater role in coming days While HN Jattu assured full support and cooperation to new president.
R K Raina proposed the vote of thanks and highlighted the service of ASKPC.
K K Khosa president KP Sabha, A K Raina of AIKS, Vijay Kashkari, M K Jalali, D N Kissu, B K Vaishnavi and Dr C N Tickoo attended the function.
