JAMMU, Oct 15: Fifteen fresh cases of Dengue were reported today taking the total number of patients suffering from the vector-borne disease in Jammu region to 87.
“15 persons including 10 adults and five children were today tested positive for Dengue virus, out of which 11 belonged to Jammu district, two to Kathua district while one each are from Reasi and Poonch districts”, Director Health Services (Jammu), Dr BS Pathania said.
“He said all the affected adults are male while out of the five Dengue-affected children, two are male and three females”, he added. However, he said that majority of the patients affected with the disease who were admitted to various hospitals have been discharged after successful treatment.
Dr Pathania advised the people not to store water in open utensils and allow stagnation of water in their surroundings, as stagnant water is a breeding ground for Dengue mosquitoes. He also advised the people to prevent themselves from mosquito bites.
