JAMMU, Oct 17: To transform teachers as facilitators, Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu organized a workshop on ‘Effective Teaching in Mathematics’ for teachers upto class VIII, here today.
The highlights of the workshop were – Application based teaching and Basic Mathematical skills.
The workshop was conducted by Jharna De (Author-‘Math Sight’).
The resource person correlated Maths with daily life examples and laid emphasis on framing questions based on them.
She shared tips on how to teach students to think logically and critically. It was an interactive programme where teachers actively participated in all discussions and activities.
Steps to stimulate a spirit of curiosity, enquiry, innovation and creativity among students were also discussed, in order to supplement conventional education and make Mathematics an enjoyable and interesting pursuit.
Welcoming the resource person, Meenu Gupta, Headmistress remarked that the children have innate learning abilities and if given the right atmosphere, they can rise on a learning ladder quite independently.
