Inter-District Hockey competition commences

JAMMU, Oct 19: Inter District State Level competition in the discipline of Hockey Girls Under-17 and Under-19 girls got underway at KK Hakhu Astroturf Stadium, here today.
Ninety seven girls drawn from various districts of the State are taking part in the competition.
The competition is being organised  by the Department of youth Services and Sports as a part of annual calendar of sports activities under the patronage of Jehangir Mir, Director General Youth Services and Sports and under the overall supervision of Madan Lal, Joint Director and Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Sukhdev Raj, DYSSO Jammu in a simple and well attended function.
In Hockey Under-19 girls, Poonch beat Baramulla by 2-0. For Poonch, Rukhsana and Rozia scored one goal each.
In another match of Under-19 category, Jammu got better of Poonch by a solitary goal (1-0). Kavleen was the goal scorer.
In Hockey Under-17 girls, Poonch defeated Baramulla by 4-0 goals. Ishtia Sharma scored all the goals for her team.
In another match of Under-19 category, Jammu prevailed over Baramulla by a solitary goal (1-0). Priya was the goal scorer.
The matches were officiated by Gurmeet Singh, Satvinder Singh, Karanjeet Singh, Mandeep Singh and Jajjit Singh.
