POONCH, Oct 20: District Poonch Hockey Championship, being organized by Hockey Poonch, under the aegis of Hockey J&K commenced at Sports Stadium, here today.
In the first match, Stadium XI got better of Stadium A by three goals to nil (3-0) in the Sub Junior category. For the winners, Sarfaraz Ahmed scored the first goal in 29th minute, while Akash netted the second goal in 47th minute and Azar pelted the third goal in 57th minute.
Nirdosh Kumar, In-charge Sports Stadium Poonch was chief guest on the occasion, who was accompanied by Ravinder Singh,Tanveer Ahmed and Mushtaq Ahmed.
The match was officiated by Mohd Shokat, Ishtiaq Ahmed and Mukesh Kumar, hockey coach, while the Championship is being conducted under overall supervision of Sham Lal Sharma, retired SAI Hockey coach and vice president of Hockey J&K.
