SRINAGAR, Oct 21: A delegation of J&K Ittihadul Muslimeen (IM), called on Governor N.N. Vohra, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
The delegation briefed the Governor about the activities of the organization and the long standing tradition of processions being taken out on the 8th and 10th Moharram every year. The IM requested the Governor to help in these processions being allowed to be organised on their traditional routes and also sought the administration’s cooperation in this regard.
The Governor observed that he would convey the IM’s request to the Chief Minister today.
The delegation comprised Syed Ibrahim Razvi, Vice-President; M. Hussain Jaffrey, Gen. Secretary; and Nazir Ahmad Dar and M. Rafiq Kathoo, Executive members.
