Workshop on Basic Computer Skills held at CUJ

JAMMU, Oct 21: A Three day workshop on Basic Computer Skills for freshers of Central University of Jammu was organised by the Department of Computer Science & IT under the guidance of Prof. Devanand, Head Department of Computer Science & IT with an aim to provide training on basic computer skills.
Almost 300 students from Masters and B.Voc Programmes participated in the workshop.  The workshop stressed on providing hand on practical experience to students on the topics covered in the workshop.
The workshop concluded today with the valedictory function which was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ashok Aima.
In the welcome address, Prof. Devanand apprised the audience about the theme and relevance of the workshop in today’s competitive world.
In his presidential remarks, Prof. Ashok Aima stressed that in today’s Digital era, computing is no more a privilege for few but a necessity for everyone and hence basic knowledge of computers is must.
He emphasised on the relevance of computer knowledge in order to exhibit creative skill. The function ended with a vote of thanks by Dr. Bhavna Arora.
