Ganga for organising events to promote rural sports

JAMMU, Oct 23: The 30th annual Akhnoor Dangal 2015 a mega Wrestling event was organized by Akhnoor Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Style Wresting Association at Hari Mandir Ghat here today.
Minister for Industries & Commerce, Chander Prakash Ganga was the chief guest on the occasion while MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma was the guest of honour.
Mr Ganga congratulated the Dangal Committee for this impressive feat and said that such events go a long way in encouraging the youth toward the traditional rural sports.
A total of 95 bouts were played  among wrestlers  and the 1st bout between Wrestler Benia Min of J&K Police and Gaurav from Ludhiana remained a tie and cash prize of Rs 75,000 was awarded to  both the wrestlers.
Second bout was fought between Abdul Gani of Mallerkotla Krishna Lilly of Delhi and Bhupinder Singh of Amritsar in Punjab, which was won by Wrestler Bhupinder and was awarded a cash prize of  Rs 51,000. The 3rd bout was won by Kaka of RS Pura (Jammu) who defeated Pamma of Delhi and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 31,00.
