JAMMU, Oct 29: Twenty Third Jammu District Open Junior and Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship got underway at MA Stadium, here today.
The Championship was declared open jointly by chairman of the J&K Billiards and Snooker Association, Sidharth Sharma and president of JKBSA, Sanjeev Gupta in an impressive function today.
Over 70 players are participating in the Championship to vie for the top honours. Prominent among others present on the inaugural function were Vishal Abrol, Nikhil Kapahi, Sohail Khalid, Kuldeep Chowdhary and Ishuk Chowdhary.
In the inaugural Billiards match, Mandeep Singh drubbed Sanand Sharma by (2-0).
In another match of the day, Samarth Amla got better of Jasvinder Singh (2-0) (50-47 and 51-34).
Meanwhile, in a handout issued here the organizers informed that Junior Snooker will be starting from October 31, 2015 and the draw will be taken out at 6 pm tomorrow.
