Suryansh, Nipun steal show as J&K in comfort zone

JAMMU, Nov 6: J&K openers Nipun Verma and Suryansh Raina stole the show in J&K’s second innings and took their team to comfort zone by putting up an unbeaten partnership of 122 runs after J&K conceded a slender lead of 23 runs to Hyderabad in the match of Cooch Behar Under-19 Trophy at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
Earlier, rtesuming their innings from an overnight score of 170/9, J&K added 8 runs today to score 178 in their first innings. Sahil Lotra was the top scorer with 59 runs.
In reply, Hyderabad after struggling at 121 for the loss of 8 wickets managed to surpass the J&K  total to score 201 runs in their first essay, thereby taking a lead of 23 runs.Buddhir Ahul was the top scorer with 50 runs, while K Nithesh Reddy and Pabba Nilesh contributed 41 and 32 runs to the total respectively. For J&K, Momin Mansoor was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 important wickets, while Sunil Kumar scalped 3 wickets and Abid Mushtaq claimed 2 wickets. Aaqib Nabi also took one wicket.
J&K, in their second essay, were 122/0 as both the openers were undefeated at the draw of stumps today. Suryansh, in particular, was in fabulous touch, scoring brisk 78 runs off 90 balls, studded with 16 delectable boundaries, while Nipun scored valuable 40 runs off 82 balls with the help of 5 boundaries and one six.
