JAMMU, Aug 29: Sprawling Buds School, Laxmipuram, Chinore, paid tributes to the hockey wizard Dhyan Chand on his birthday by celebrating the National Sports Day in its School premises, here today.
The programme commenced with fun races which included Tunnel race, Frog jump race, Lemon and spoon race, Gunny bag race and three leg race which was followed by a balloon-filling competition. A Tug of War competition and a Volley Ball match was also played between the Junior and Senior students.
Ram Khajuria, Secretary Tawi Trekkers,J&K was the chief guest on the occasion.
While speaking Khajuria threw light on the importance of the Day.
He dwelt at length on the life and achievements of Major Dhyan Chand on whose birthday the National Sports Day is celebrated all over India.
Later, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions.

Tunnel Race:
Paras, Samvit and Virat claimed 1st three positions
Frog Jumping Race:
Sakshi Bhat, Manya Sharma and Ridhima.
Lemon – Spoon race:
Manya Mehta, Ayushman and Aditya Hriday.
Gunny Bag race:
Manya Sharma, Pranavi Bhasin, Sanidhya
Balloon Filling Competition
Sunandani Bhagat, Rudra Pratap, Kumar Lakshya.
Three Leg Race:
Arnav Pandita and Amaan Khan, Shiva and Nischal and Harshita and Urvi.
