UDHAMPUR, Nov 16: Minister of State for Finance and Information Technology, Pawan Kumar Gupta today visited Tikri and kick-started macadamization of double lane Tikri-Katra road.
The black topping and upgradation of Tikri-Katra road would be completed with an amount of Rs 3.66 crore by the Public Works Department (PWD).
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said macadamization of Tikri -Katra road was the long pending demand of the people of the area. He said road connectivity is imperative for development of all other sectors including tourism. He further added that Government is committed to provide improved basic facilities like road connectivity, electricity, schools, health care etc to the people at their doorstep.
Mr. Gupta issued on the spot instructions to the engineers of PWD to ensure durability of road without compromising the quality of material. He also directed Executive Engineer PHE to repair the old water tank and make DPR for construction of new water tank at Chakhad.
He urged the people to avail the benefits of various welfare schemes like PMJJBY, PMSBY, APY, JDY, Aasra and Laadli.
Among others, SE PWD Ashok Gandotra, X-En PWD Katra, T L Thappa, X-En PHE Rajesh Gupta, X-En PDD Chamail Singh, X-En Irrigation and Flood control, J P Singh, AD CA&PD Joginder Singh, BDO Tikri Rajkumari Parihar, Engineers of PWD,PDD, PHE, TSO , prominent citizens and people in large number were also present on the occasion.
