Ganga inaugurates Science Exhibition

SAMBA, Nov 17: Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga inaugurated one day Science Exhibition organized by District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) at Government Girls High School, Tarore in Bari Brahmna today.
The students of around 60 different Government schools of the district displayed science exhibits on themes like water harvesting, flood alarm system, disaster management, solar power plant, global warming, soil conservation and waste management etc.
The Minister inspected all the models displayed by the students and interacted with the students asking them various questions relating to their models.
He also laid the foundation of the work of boundary wall of Govt Girls High school Tarore which would cost Rs 14 lakh and construction of Badminton field at an estimated cost of Rs 2 lakh.
He also directed BDO Bari Brahmana to take up work of leveling of play field in the school at an estimated cost of Rs 2 lakh.
Principal of Govt Girls High school Sheela Choudhary and Principal DIET Samba, Sewa Ram apprised the minister of various issues pertaining to the development of the school and the institute including road connectivity, crate work alongside of Nallah, toilet complex, up gradation of school, handing over the new building to DIET for the smooth functioning of the institute etc.
Speaking at the occasion,  the Minister announced construction of toilet complex for the school under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and directed the BDO to start the flood protection work by putting crates from Adarsh College to DIET with the help of Flood Control Department.
Ganga said that the Government is committed to provide better facilities and infrastructure in the Government schools so that  more students can be enrolled. He exhorted upon the teachers to put in dedicated efforts to nurture the talent of the students and help them achieve higher goals in life.
