LEH, Nov 17: Housing Colony police arrested a man for murdering his driver friend over an argument, late last night.
As per police sources, police post Housing Colony Leh received information from SNM Hospital regarding death of a driver identified as Sonam Tsering (26), a resident of Salapi Zanskar, at present Ibex Colony, Leh due to stabbing near his heart.
Police party rushed to the spot and after completing legal formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to family members for last rites.
Acting swiftly, police team from police post Housing Colony Leh nabbed the killer, who has been identified as Lobzang Thardot. The accused was friend of the deceased and had stabbed the latter over an argument. During questioning, he also confessed to having committed the crime.
A case under FIR Number 125/15 under Section 302 RPC has been registered against the accused at police station Leh and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by Incharge police post Housing Colony, Leh, SI Meraj Giri and assisted by SI Rigzin Gurmet and HC Ahmed Feroz made the arrest under the supervision of Additional SP Leh T Gyalpo and SSP Leh Dr Sunil Gupta.
