JAMMU, Nov 17: Minister for Law, Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, Relief & Rehabilitation, Syed Basharat Bukhari today reviewed the recommendations made by the committee which was constituted to look into the reasons that had led to revision in the original cost estimates of the under construction New Legislature complex at Jammu.
The Law Minister had constituted a six member expert committee to look into the reasons for cost escalations in the project.
During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held with the concerned engineers and members of the committee with regard to various changes, additions and alterations that have been recommended under civil, structural, electrical, public address system, acoustics, fixtures and other components to bring in more financial discipline in the final project.
Law Secretary, Mohammad Ashraf Mir, Chief Engineer R&B, Kashmir, A. K. Razdan, MD JKPCC, Thusoo, Chief Engineer, Procurement & Management, PDD, Khursheed Baddoo, Secretary Legislative Assembly, M. Ramzam, Secretary Legislative Council, Abdul Majeed Bhat, Additional Secretary Law, Achal Sethi, Sr. Engineer, Radio Kashmir, Srinagar, Qazi Masood, besides concerned engineers and senior officers were present in the meeting.
Later, the Minister visited the New Legislature complex wherein the JKPCC officials briefed the Minister about the layout plan of the 42 m high multi-storey complex.
Bukhari inspected the work on the floors meant for Assembly and Council business besides officers Chambers, Press Galleries and Committee rooms.
The Minister urged the concerned officers to speed up the pace of work, so that the project is completed within the stipulated time.
