KATHUA, Nov 18: A man was killed by his real brother when they had a fight over water connection in Sawan Chak village near here this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Kaka Ram, son of Roldu Ram, resident of village Sawan Chak, Hatli Morh, Kathua.
Police said he died when he was given a blow by his brother while having a brawl over water connection.
Police said the accused identified as Gopal Dass first tried to hit his brother with a spade but he escaped following which Gopal gave blows with fist due to which Kaka suffered a critical injury and died.
Police said that the two brothers entered into heated arguments when Kaka Ram tried to give water connection to his residential house which was objected by his brother Gopal Dass. The duo had a dispute since past and they were also not in talking terms, police added.
Police said from heated exchanges they turned to blows and Gopal Dass tried to hit the Kaka Ram with the spade he was holding in his hand but Kaka escaped unhurt and later he gave blows to him resulting in his instant death.
The Police Post Hatli More has registered a case under Section RPC 302 against Gopal Dass. It has also seized the spade. Gopal Dass tried to escape but police managed to nab him and he was been put behind the bars.
