ESM rally organized at Rakhmuthi

JAMMU, Nov 19: An Ex-Servicemen (ESM) rally was organized today at Rakhmuthi Miltary station, Akhnoor under the aegis of Crossed Swords Division.
The rally was aimed at reaching out to the veterans and Veer Naris of the elite Indian Army. The function was organized at a grand scale, wherein the attendance of Ex-Servicemen was overwhelming.
The event was inaugurated by Lt Gen RR Nimbhorkar, GOC, White Knight Corps, which was attended by a number of Army, civil administration and Ex-servicemen dignitaries.
The ESM rally was principally aimed at addressing relevant issues pertaining to health services for the Ex Servicemen and acquainted them with various schemes and plans for enhancing their quality of life even after retirement.
During the rally, the Ex-servicemen and Veer Naris were informed about welfare and financial schemes available for them i.e. pension related information, functioning of Crossed Swords Ex Servicemen helpline, Ex Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS), Post Retirement Schemes and service opportunities after retirement.
Maj Gen Kulpreet Singh, GOC, Crossed Swords Division in his inaugural remarks welcomed and expressed the gratitude towards the ex servicemen for their contributions and continued support towards nation building.
Sheela Nimbhorkar, Zonal President, AWWA, White Knight Corps and NK Singh, Chairperson FWO, Crossed Swords Division, were also present during the rally where they interacted closely, with Veer Naris present during the function.
Sheela Nimbhorkar also felicitated individual Veer Naris, by gifting certain welfare packages to them and also provided four wheel chairs to the physically handicapped ESM and their families.
Meanwhile, a medical camp was also organized wherein, on spot cataract check up was carried out and free medicines were distributed to all ESM and Veer Naris.
