Khalsa Club to lock horns with MBS Simbal Camp in summit clash

JAMMU, Nov 20: Outpla-ying their rivals convincingly in the semifinals, Khalsa Club Gole Gujral and MBS Simbal Camp sealed berth in the finals of the ongoing Shaheed Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial Hockey Tournament, being organized by Kashmir Sikh Sangat, under the aegis of Hockey J&K at KK Hakhu Astroturf Hockey Stadium, here.
Earlier, in the first semifinal, Khalsa Club defeated Dasmesh Club, Nanak Nagar in an easy contest by five goals to two (5-2).
Khalsa Club players dominated the game from the word go and registered a resounding victory.
On the occasion, TS Wazir, former MLC and chairman Gurdwara Board was the chief guest, while OP Singh , Director Finance was also present.
In another semifinal, MBS Simbal Camp defeated Young Star Simbal Camp in close contest by five goals to four (5-4). The players of both the teams attacked and counter-attacked and finally MBS emerged winner in a tight finish.
ADGP Dilbag Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sewa Singh, president Kashmir Sikh Sangat, Karamjeet Singh, general secretary Sangat, SS Bali, former Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports, KN Singh Kavi and TP Singh.
The matches were officiated by Mohammad Amin, Charanjit Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Gurjeet Singh, Jagjit Singh, Joginder Singh and Jaspreet Singh.
The tournament is being organized under the supervision of GS Bakshi, general secretary, Hockey J&K.
