Concerted steps afoot to improve road connectivity: Sunil Sharma

JAMMU, Nov 21: Reiterating that the Government has accorded high priority to the R&B sector, Minister of State for PWD (R&B), Revenue, Sunil Sharma said that a comprehensive plan has been chalked out to improve road connectivity in the State especially in the far-flung areas.
The Minister was speaking at public grievances redressal camp held at TRC Kwar in Kishtwar today.
Sunil Sharma said that roads are vital for development of the State and focus is being laid to improve road links to give impetus to the development in all the sectors.
During his visit, the Minister also laid the foundation stone of 8 km Kwar-Chergi road.
The Minister also inaugurated motorable suspension bridge over river Chenab at Kwartenji. The construction work of the bridge has been completed at a cost of Rs. 5 crore.
The people of the area also apprised the Minister regarding the development issues of their area. The Minister assured them that their demands will be met in phased manner. He directed the concerned officers to reach out to the people and resolve their grievances on priority.
The Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, G. N. Balwan, SSP Kishtwar, GM, CVPP and senior officers of concerned line departments.
