GDC Shopian outplays Bijbehara by 5 wkts

SRINAGAR, Nov 21: In the on going 10th Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket Cup 2015 being played at Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar, Govt Degree College Shopian defeated Govt. Degree College Bijbehara by 5 wickets, today.
The toss was won by GDC Shopian and they elected to field first. GDC Bijbehara scored 138 runs in the allotted 25 overs. Skipper Adil contributed 35 runs off 35 deliveries and Ahtizaz scored 17 off 20 balls. For Govt. Degree College Shopian, Waris took 3 wickets and Suhail claimed 2 wickets.
Chasing a target of 139 runs, Govt. Degree College Shopian scored the required runs in 21.3 overs. Salim scored 36 runs and Waris scored 30 runs. For Govt. Degree College College Bijbehara, Abid took 2 wickets. Waris was adjudged as man of the match for his brilliant all-round performance.
SSM Engineering College will play against Post Graduates Kashmir University on November 23, 2015.
The Tournament is being organised by the Department of Physical Education, Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar, in the memory of Ex-Principal, Prof Mohammad Yousuf of the College.
