J&K’s Prinkle, Sumitpal enter semis of All India Tennis C’ship

JAMMU, Aug 30: Star tennis players of Jammu and Kashmir, the brother-sister duo of Sumitpal Singh and Prinkle entered semifinals in their respective events in the All India Championship Series of AITA Under-14 category, being held at the Lawn Tennis Association Stadium Chandigarh.
Earlier, in quarterfinal, Prinkle Singh blanked Gurneet Kour of Punjab in straight sets by (6-0, 6-4).
Meanwhile, in Under-18 category, Prinkle trounced Asha Simran Wadhwa of Delhi in pre-quarterfinals, while in earlier rounds, she defeated Nisha of Delhi and Nimrat Walia of Chandigarh easily and qualified for the main draw, while in the main draw she drubbed Ashna Arora of Delhi.
Prinkle also reached quarterfinals in Under-18 doubles event.
Prinkle’s brother Sumitpal reached the semifinals in Under-14 category by defeating Amarnath Arora of Delhi in a tough contest by (2-1), while in earlier rounds, Sumitpal defeated Shubam Malhotra of Delhi and Kabir Manrai of Chandigarh in easy contests.
