DYSS felicitates gold winner cricket team, bronze winner football players

JAMMU, Dec 4: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) felicitated the players and the officials of the Under-17 Girls State Cricket team and Under-14 Boys Football Team, besides the players and officials of Under-19 Boys Speedball squad, who won medals in All India Level 61st National School Games played at Jammu, Chhattisgarh and Durg respectively.
On behalf of the Director General Youth Services and Sports,  Jahangir Mir, Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports (C), Haji Mirza Hussain was the chief guest on the felicitation function, while Abdul Rehman, Accounts Officer was the guest of honour.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Rajesh Sambyal, Ramesh Pandita and Suraj Dev Singh.
The officials who were honoured on the occasion included Anju Gupta, manager and selector of Under-17 Girls gold medal winner team, Rajesh Dhar, selector Under-17 Girls cricket team and coaches Pankaj Sasan and Satika Sharma, besides Mehraj-ud-Din and Gurbachan Singh, coaches of Under-14 Boys Football and Under-19 Boys Speedball teams respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Haji Mirza said apart from brilliant efforts by the players it was sheer-dint of hard-work by the managers, coaches and selectors which helped J&K to win gold and bronze medals in team games.
Those players who were felicitated included Sanjana, Sonika Raina, Ishani Sharma, Pushpa, Lalita, Gunjan Pathania, Isha Makkar, Maheen, Aditi Aryan, Garima and Nancy ( All U-17 cricketers); Mehraj-Ud-Din, Yawar, Ikhlaq, Hanan, Aadil, Rashid, Mehjoor, Aaquib, Amanat, Irfan, Adeel, Ameeq, Sambhav Koul, Aman Ali, Safan and Taha (All U-14 footballers); Gurman Jeet Singh (gold), Ankit (bronze) and Suryansh (bronze) (All U-19 Speedball).
The medal winners were presented track suits and souvenir as a token of gratitude by the department.
