JAMMU, Dec 6: State Bench-Press & Deadlift Powerlifting Championship (M&F) Unequipped, organized by J&K Sports Powerlifting Association concluded at RKM Gym, Upper Gummat, Kanji House, here today.
The Championship was held to pick the players for the forthcoming National Bench-Press & Deadlift Powerlifting Championship to be held at Milanee Hall, Jamshedpur (Tatanagar) from January 2 to January 4, 2016.
Over 200 players participated in the Championship, which was declared closed by S K Mishra, DGP Prison.
He was escorted by the general secretary J&K Sports Powerlifting Association, Rajan Jain.
The chief guest and the other dignitaries distributed prizes among the winners on the occasion.
The chief guest also declared Rakesh Kumar as the Powerman and Surmeet Kour Soni as the Powerwoman of J&K State.
Meanwhile, in women category, Surmeet Kour Soni, Achint Kour and Harmeet Kour won gold medals, while Bharti, Priya, Prabha and Ruhi claimed silver medals and the bronze medals went to Gagan, Gynjan, Bharti, Sakshi, Rohini, Archa, Sonal and Gyatri clinched bronze medals.
