SAMBA, Dec 10: Army Public School Samba celebrated its Annual Sports Day with pomp and show in the school premises, here today.
The opening ceremony was graced by Cdr Samba Bde who is also the chairman APS Samba, accompanied by Manju Rana, chairperson FWO Samba Bde as the chief guest on the occasion, while Col Rajesh Gajraj, Dy Cdr, Samba Bde, Col V Jacob Kurian, Col Mahesh Taneja, Lt Col AJ Singh, SO-2 (Edn) and Lt Col Devender Tehlan were amongst the other prominent dignitaries.
A large number of parents, students and officers of the Samba Military Station graced the occasion.
Arjun Singh, Principal of the school presented welcome address and read out the annual report.
The programme began with the release of colourful balloons in the air by the chief guest followed by a beautiful welcome song presented by the tiny tots of the school.
The celebrations began with a synchronized march past parade by all the four houses which was a delight to watch followed by oath taking ceremony. The school playground was filled with festive spirit, frolicsome atmosphere and was brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship.
Winners of various competitions were awarded with medals and certificates by the chief guest on the occasion for their academics as well as sports achievements.
The programme ended with the presentation of National Anthem.
