Alur (Karnataka), Dec 17:
There was no end to Jammu and Kashmir’s woes as they suffered their fourth defeat in a row in Vijay Hazarae Trophy, failing to chase a modest 188-run target against Gujarat, here today.
J&K bowlers did a decent job as they bundled out Gujarat for just 187 in 49.2 overs after electing to bowl at KSCA Cricket Ground.
Medium paceman Omar Alam (3/31) and spinner Waseem Raza (3/38) shared six wickets between them.
For Gujarat Ruzul Bhatt top scored with a 66-run knock Axar Patel (27) and Rohit Dahiya (27) were the other notable contributors. Rush Kalatai (20) was another batsman to manage a double-digit score.
J&K were off to a disastrous start as they lost four batsmen for just 20 runs on the board and adding to that opener Omar Alam did not come out to bat. Soon they were 32 for five. Eventually they managed just 151 runs and were all out in 47.2 overs.
Only skipper Parvez Rasool (65) and Sandeep Singh (44) offered some resistance against the Gujarat bowlers.
Hardik Patel scalped four batsmen and gave away just 28 runs in his 10 overs.
