Kohli hears problems of people at BJP office

JAMMU, Dec 19:  Minister of Transport, Abdul Ghani Kohli, during his sitting at party headquarters here today, had interactions with the party activists and general public.
He was accompanied by his office staff. The people apprised him about the problems being faced by them and about their grievances pertaining to different departments, in particular the issues related to the Transport Department. The Minister gave patient hearing to each of them and issued on the spot instructions to the cases concerning the Transport Department and also recommended and forwarded the complaints and grievances related to other departments, to the concerned authorities.
Mr  Kohli, while speaking to the party activists, said that the Transport Department has  been geared  up to address the general problems of the people and it has taken up a number of initiatives aimed at streamlining the public transport in the State to meet the needs of the people so that the maximum comfort and transport facilities be provided to the daily commuters. He said that the RTOs have been instructed to conduct regular check up of the vehicles plying on roads and take stern legal action against all those who violates the traffic norms.
‘No leniency is shown to anyone who is not sensitive to issues concerning the public and creates problems for the public. Instructions have been given to take stern action against those drivers who creates inconvenience for the public and violates the general rules and norms and do not possess the appropriate legal documents of the vehicles’, Kohli said and assured that the department under him is committed to make safe journey  at all cost.
A number of party leaders were also present during the sitting of the Minister.
