JAMMU, Dec 20: Minister of State for Education, Information and Culture Priya Sethi today asserted that early redressal of people’s grievances tops the agenda of present Coalition Government which is committed to ensure transparent, accountable and more responsive dispensation to its people.
The Minister said this during a public meeting convened at Pir Mitha Ward No. 5 here today. Senior leader of BJP Yudhvir Sethi was also present on the occasion.
On the occasion, the residents of Pir Mitha and adjoining areas apprised the Minister of their demands and grievances seeking an early redressal.
The Minister listened to the grievances of people and issued on-the-spot instructions to the concerned officers for early redressal of the same.
Reaffirming Government’s resolve of providing better civic facilities, Priya Sethi said the Government is committed to upgrade Jammu city on most modern lines. She said that provision for better healthcare, education, PHE and road connectivity are the priority sectors for the Government.
Priya Sethi exhorted that benefits of various development and welfare schemes of State and Centre should reach to the real beneficiaries timely. She said no stone would be left unturned in redressing genuine grievances of the people. She also highlighted various development works being executed under PDD, PHE, Health and other departments in the State.
Speaking on the occasion, Yudhvir said Centre and State Governments have launched a number of schemes for progress and and prosperity of the State. He said that the Government has started a mass contact programme to mitigate their problems at their doorsteps. The alliance is working in tandem for overall development of the state.
Yudhvir Sethi said that the work on Artificial Lake and ropeway project from historic Mubarak Mandi Royal palace to Mahamaya Park and Bagh-e-Bahu is in full swing and would be completed within stipulated time frame. He said the completion of the same will give boost to tourism sector in the state. He also highlighted the present status of execution of construction work of other prestigious projects being executed in the State.
