JAMMU, Dec 20: Congress Migrant Cell has criticized the Government for asking the migrant relief holders to fill up the forms under the national food security Act.
In a meeting here today held under the leadership of Hira Lal Pandita chairman of the Cell it questioned the Government’s intensions about the same saying that the migrants who are leading an exiled life for last 26 years are being given free ration and they don’t fall in the category of the Act.
The meeting said before asking the migrants to fill up the forms first the Governments should ensure the proper rehabilitation of the displaced people and settle their problems.
They said the FSA can’t be applied to displaced people who are dependent on cash dolls from Government after they were hounded from Valley by the terrorists and anti national elements way back in 1989 and 1990.
The meeting asked the Government to clarify its position on this very issue as the Cell apprehends that this way Government was intending to do away with migration.
Those who addressed the meeting included Chuni Lal Kandi, Ghulam Qadir Bhat and S L Pandita its conveners, M K Pandita, Ramesh Kumar Bhat and Bansi Lal Pandita.
