JAMMU, Dec 21: Consequent upon the formation of its executive recently, ASKPC held its first Executive Committee Meeting at its headquarters Durga Nagar near here today.
The meeting was presided over by Adv Ravinder Raina President of the organization .While addressing the new team he appealed for strengthening the Organization for making it vibrant and capable to mitigate the problems of Kashmiri Pandit community. He also called for suggestions to improve functioning of the Committee.
R.K.Wangnoo, Sr Vice President , C.L.Bhat (Advocate) and Prof. Satish Bhan vice presidents briefly explained the formation of ASKPC , the role it has played up till now and the responsibilities which ASKPC has to should and help community members to overcome the various difficulties they are subjected to in the present day scenario.
Dr T.K.Bhat general secretary emphasized need of the hour is to work cohesively for the betterment of the community and lauded the Parliamentarians of the country for adopting the resolution for immediate rehabilitation of Kashmiri Pandits at one place in the Valley, thus endorsing the ASKPC agenda with fee flow of Indian Constitution and political empowerment.
The Executive members in one voice over-rightly rejected the so called proposal of present State Government that KPs will be rehabilitated in colonies where 50% of other communities will also be rehabilitated and also demanded that the Central Government should take immediate steps for declaring Kashmiri Pandits as Internally displaced persons and implementation of Prime Minister’s package on priority and passage of the pending Temples Veena Gurtoo President Women Wing in the meeting appealed to the Government for opening of Social Welfare and Computer Training Centers for poor students of the Community where as Ravi Ji President Youth Wing appealed to Relief Commissioner for the early redressal of the problems faced by the migrants at various zones including inclusion & bifurcation of rations cards.
The other members who endorsed the views were S.K.Raina, B.K.Mujoo, B.L.Handoo, Kusum Koul, Yogesh Zalpuri, R.N.Raina , Ruby Mattoo and Sunil Bhat.
