JAMMU, Sept 5: Secretary, Higher Education Department, Gazzanfer Hussain, while interacting with the Presidium of J&K College Teachers Association, (CTA) stated that the pending cases of placement of over five hundred college teachers would be sorted out shortly, as a meeting with the PSC has been fixed for 7th of this month.
Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, president of the association, yesterday stressed upon the Secretary Higher Education to take into consideration the earlier placement orders issued between 2005 to 2009. The Secretary, who has acquired an in-depth knowledge about the Higher Educational set up in the State, incredibly in a very short tenure in the department, discussed a number of measures for improving the educational set up.
Among various other issues discussed were speedy framing of Career Advancement rules, Co-ordination between the State Universities & Higher Education Department for organizing Refresher/Orientation courses on dates when college teachers could be relieved without affecting the academic activity, Posting of confirmed principals in the colleges, filling up of posts of Controller and Secretary, BOPEE, which are reserved for Principals of Degree Colleges, posting of Director libraries from college cadre, restoration of post of Controller of Examinations, DCD & DSW in the Universities for College principals, parity in superannuation age of teachers in Colleges & State Universities, payment of 6th Pay Commission Arrears, starting of courses in the newly established colleges after appropriate surveys & feedback.
The delegation was led by Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, president CTA and accompanied by Dr Satesh Bhan, general secretary, Prof R.S.Jamwal, Dr C.K.Khajuria, Prof. B.K.Gandhotra, Dr Neeraj Gupta and others.
