2 bovines rescued from car, driver arrested

RAMBAN, Dec 29: Cracking down a new modus operandi of the bovine smugglers, police rescued two cattles from the dickey of a car and arrested the driver.
As per police sources, police team from Ramban police station during checking of vehicles at Shan Palace signalled a Fiat Siena car bearing registration number JK02V-0212 to stop for checking.
Sensing trouble, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape from the spot, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 2 bovine animals loaded in the dickey of the car in a cruel manner and accordingly arrested the driver.
The accused has been identified as Ramzan Ali, son of Mohammad Din of Lower Ragoora, Sidhra Jammu. He was carrying the bovines to Valley from Jammu, but his designs were thwarted by the police.
A case under FIR Number 143/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered against the accused driver at police station Ramban and investigation started.
Police team headed by SHO Ramban police station Inspector Vinod Kundal made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
